Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long does gas wall oven installation take in the Atlanta area?
Most gas wall oven installations take 3-5 hours, including disconnection of old oven, wall oven installation, gas connection, electrical connection, leak testing, temperature verification, and feature testing. First-time installations or those requiring gas shutoff valve replacement may take 4-6 hours.

Q: What is a gas shutoff valve and why is it required?
A gas shutoff valve is a valve installed in the gas line that allows gas flow to be turned off for service or emergencies. It MUST be located at the wall oven opening (not at the main gas meter). This valve is MANDATORY for safe gas wall oven installation. If no shutoff valve exists or if it's faulty, it must be installed or replaced before wall oven installation (additional cost $150-300).

Q: Do gas wall ovens need electricity?
YES - Gas wall ovens require electrical connection (typically 110V) for the electronic ignition system, electronic controls, oven lights, and convection fan. The gas provides the heating, but electricity is required for ignition and controls. If no electrical outlet exists near the wall oven opening, one must be installed (additional cost $150-400).

Q: What sizes of gas wall ovens can you install?
We install all standard sizes from 24" to 30" wide. Common sizes are 24", 27", and 30". Single wall ovens are typically 27" or 30", and double wall ovens are typically 27" or 30". We serve homes throughout Gwinnett, DeKalb, Cobb, Fulton, and Forsyth counties with all sizes.

Q: Can you install any brand of gas wall oven?
Yes! We install all major brands including Wolf, Thermador, Viking, Miele, Gaggenau, Bosch, KitchenAid, GE Monogram, Jenn-Air, GE, Whirlpool, and Frigidaire. We can also install gas wall ovens purchased from Home Depot, Lowe's, Best Buy, or online retailers.

Q: Do you handle disposal of my old gas wall oven?
Yes! For $25, we'll haul away your old gas wall oven and take it for proper recycling. This is optional but highly recommended for complete service.

Q: How do you test for gas leaks?
We use a comprehensive dual-method leak detection system: (1) Apply leak detection solution to all gas connections and watch for bubbles, and (2) Use an electronic gas detector to verify no gas presence. This dual-method approach provides maximum safety assurance. Any detected leaks are immediately corrected and re-tested.

Q: What BTU rating do gas wall ovens have?
Gas wall ovens typically provide 16,000-18,000 BTU for standard models. Professional models (Wolf, Thermador, Viking) may offer 18,000-23,000+ BTU for faster preheating and more powerful baking.

Q: Can you convert a natural gas wall oven to liquid propane (LP)?
Yes! We provide natural gas to liquid propane conversion service, which includes the LP conversion kit. This service converts the wall oven orifices and pressure regulator to work with liquid propane instead of natural gas (additional cost $150-250).

Q: What is the difference between a gas wall oven and a gas range?
A gas wall oven is a built-in oven installed in a cabinet opening (typically at eye level), with no cooktop attached. A gas range is a freestanding unit that includes both an oven and a cooktop (stove) in one unit. Wall ovens provide ergonomic advantages (no bending to access oven) and allow separate cooktop placement.

Q: How heavy are gas wall ovens?
Single gas wall ovens typically weigh 100-150 lbs. Double gas wall ovens can weigh 150-250+ lbs depending on size and brand. Professional models (Wolf, Viking) are heavier due to thicker insulation and heavier construction.

Q: Do I need a permit for gas wall oven installation?
Permit requirements vary by county. Some jurisdictions require permits for gas appliance installations. We handle all permit requirements as needed. Permit fees (if required) are an additional charge.
